Most companies' new products are conceived in the boardroom, often mere clones of successful products designed by others. At Nathan, our product development labs are the terrain we constantly strive to conquer.

We do our best product research scaling the Tetons, crossing the Grand Canyon or clinging to a sub-6 minute pace 20 miles into a marathon- because what needs to be improved often becomes clear only under extreme conditions. In fact, nearly all of our best ideas for new products hit us when we're training for, or competing in, trail hundred-milers, epic mountain bike rides, adventure races, and triathlons. Every race, ride or run is an experiment in redefi ning the very notion of "humanly possible" that requires not just the heart of an athlete, but also the mind of a scientist.

JON RIECHLIN
Nathan's chief athlete/scientist is company president, Jon Reichlin. A hardcore endurance athlete who recently completed the legendary Escape from Alcatraz triathlon, Jon does whatever it takes to ensure that every Nathan product performs perfectly during the gut-wrenching realities of pushing the limits of human performance. To help achieve his goal, Jon reunited one of the toughest and most respected product design and testing duos in the endurance sports world.

BRYCE THATCHER
Bryce Thatcher, who founded Ultimate Direction and invented the water bottle pack, now spearheads product design and development for Nathan. Bryce is a two-time second- team All-American cross-country skier, an adventure racer and a speed climbing maniac. In fact, he still claims the fastest time (3 hours, 6 minutes) for the Grand Teton ascent/descent! Over the years, Bryce's background in exercise physiology and biomechanics has led to many patented features and designs, and even to entirely new product categories.

DANA MILLER
Jon and Bryce are joined by veteran ultramarathoner, triathlete, and international adventure racer Dana "Mud n' Guts" Miller. A five-time Wasatch 100 winner, Mud n' Guts is about the toughest and most critical product tester around. Still hammering his body after nearly 30 years of top-level competition, Dana quickly identifies design flaws and knows when a product is totally dialed in.

We hope the experience, sweat, and science we've invested in every Nathan product will help you redefine your own "humanly possible".
